About Life and Times
Life and Times is the online journal of a boy newly turned 30 and his adventures in and around Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the greater New York area. The story is one of trial and error, triumph and regret. It is at once highly improbable, deeply personal, and a huge put-on. This is the nth incarnation of Life and Times, but almost certainly not the last.
About the Author
Ryan grew up in the hinterlands of South Jersey, deep in the bowels of suburban track housing and surrounded by all manner of shopping malls, chain restaurants, and four-wheel drive, soccer mom-toting SUVs. Ryan braved the oppressive landscape of diners and strip malls for 18 years before going to university and eventually settling in New York. After spending much of his metropolitan existence in the upper reaches of Manhattan, Ryan moved to the wilds of Bushwick, Brooklyn.
