This is my
500th post on Tumblr. Which is pretty impressive when you consider that I spent about 18 months actively not using it.
But then someone reminded me how fun it could be, and somewhere around the new year I began using it in earnest. It’s fun seeing all the different use cases — the photo bloggers, the rebloggers, those annoying folks that us it to advance their political ideals, etc....

I’m reading Hemingway now, first fiction I’ve picked up in what seems like forever. And the thing that strikes me is how much of this work must be lost on high schoolers and college freshman that just don’t have the experience to really get it. In an abstract sense, yes I’m sure there’s lots of intelligent metaphors to be discussed and what-not, but having not lived...
In a lot of ways I’m a hopeless romantic; I’d like to believe that there’s someone out there for everyone. Even the people that are unbelievably deformed or stupid. Esp. the stupid ones.
